Maternity hospital maybe used to treat corona cases: MP Pratap Simha

Mysuru, June 27:- “As coronavirus cases are increasing in the city, we will need additional hospitals and ventilators. Works related to maternity hospital will have to be completed soon which can be used as additional Covid-19 Hospital,” said Mysuru-Kodagu Member of Parliament Pratap Simha.

He was speaking after inspecting the renovated Tulasidas Hospital building on Jhansi Rani Lakshmi Bai Road in the city on Saturday.

“I wish everyone on the occasion of Kempegowda Jayanti. Tulasidas Hospital is almost complete and I have come for the inspection,” he added.

“Disha Committee meeting was held on Friday regarding the central government’s development projects. MCH was also discussed in the meeting. The central government has sanctioned MCH project to Mysuru worth Rs 20 crore and worth Rs 18 crore to Hunsur. Works are going on rapidly. As coronavirus cases are increasing in Mysuru, we need more hospitals and ventilators. The maternity hospital can be used as an additional hospital for coronavirus treatment,” he said.

“The works have been done well. It will be completed in the next one month or so. MLA S A Ramadass should have come as well. Officials should have informed him. We will solve these small things in future,” he added.

“MCH project was sanctioned in 2017. It will be taken up in Periyapattana and HD Kote in the coming days. People need not panic over Covid-19 cases. The virus doesn’t spread in the air,” he added.
