Mysuru mayoral polls: Party high command’s decision is final, says JD(S) MLA Sa Ra Mahesh

Mysuru, February 18:- Janata Dal (Secular) MLA from K R Nagar, Sa Ra Mahesh, said on Thursday (February 18) that the party high command’s decision will be final in the mayoral polls for Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) slated for February 24.

The JD(S) leader was talking to the media after a meeting of the JD(S) councillors.

He said, “The decision is left to the high command though the meeting ended without any consensus. A couple of the councillors did not want a tie-up with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) while some opined they have no issues if there is a coalition with the BJP or Congress. The meeting was held to collect the opinions of the councillors and other leaders.”

Mahesh said, “High command will take the final call. This is the second meeting with JD(S) members and they are bound by what the party seniors say. In Mysuru district, both BJP and Congress are our enemies. That the coalition is inevitable, we have to see which is the best option.” (MR/KS)
