Mysuru, November 9:- The Mayor’s Gold Cup Kabaddi tournamnet organised with an aim to encourage rural games will be inaugurated in the city today evening at Chamundi Vihar Indoor Stadium at Nazarbad here.
PWD and District In-charge Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa will inaugurate the tournament.
Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) is organising the All India Kabaddi Floodlight Tournament – Mayor’s Gold Cup for both men and women will be held from today to November 12.
A total of 32 teams which includes 16 men and 16 women team from Mysuru, Mandya and Bengaluru and teams from various other states including Kerala, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and others are expected to take part.
The knock-out matches will begin from today and the winners men’s category would be given a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh for runner-up and Rs. 50,000 for second runner-up. The tournament is organised at a cost of Rs 45 lakh.
