Mysuru, July 6:- The officials of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) and the Police Department personnel jointly carried out an operation against people roaming about without a face mask in the city and imposed fines on them for not wearing masks.
The operation was led by the environmental engineer of MCC Mythri. They carried out the operation at Devaraja Market, Santhepete, Shivarampet, Devaraja Urs Road and collected a fine of Rs 200 each from 22 people. They also created awareness among people to wear face masks.
“Coronavirus cases are far from over in the heritage city. We have to be extremely careful. Still, people are coming out without wearing face masks. We have carried out an operation to collect fines from people who are not wearing masks. Everyone should follow the government guidelines,” said Mythri.
