MCC election: Congress aspirants make a beeline to Siddu’s house

Mysuru, August 18:- Political parties are preparing for the MCC election to be held on August 31. Congress aspirants are thronging to the residence of former chief minister Siddaramaiah to try their luck.

Minister Krishna Byregowda, former minister C H Vijaya Shankar, former MUDA chairperson Dhruvakumar held a discussion with Siddaramaiah at his residence. A decision has been taken on who would be made in charge of all the regions of the city ahead of the election. MLA Tanveer Sait has been made in charge of Narasimharaja constituency, former MLA M K Somashekhar is in charge of Krishnaraja constituency and former MLA Vasu is in charge of Chamaraja constituency. Siddaramaiah said that he would finalise the tickets for the candidates from Chamundeshwari constituency. Congress leaders are expected to meet again this evening to finalise the tickets. Congress leaders have glued their eyes on Narasimharaja and Chamaraja constituencies. It is said that young candidates who have higher chances of winning would be given tickets.

Somashekhar mocked the mission 20 target of BJP and asked BJP how many seats the party had won in the previous election. He hoped Congress would be winning more seats this time out. (MR/KS).
