MCC elections; public campaigning ends today

Mysuru, August 29:- Countdown has begun for the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) election what with the public campaign coming to an end today.

The public campaign has come to an end at 7 am today. The public campaign usually ends 48 hours during the elections to both Lok Sabha and Vidhana Sabha. The same system is being followed here.

There are 65 wards in the city corporation. Congress is contesting in all the wards, whereas the BJP and JD(S) are contesting from 62 wards each. JD(S) and Congress, who have a coalition government in the state, are contesting independently. All the three parties are facing rebellious activities. The election results will be announced on September 3. (MR/KS).
