MCC introduces Yogalakshmi scheme for poor families

Mysuru, June 29:- “Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) is offering a bond of Rs 25,000 to the below-the-poverty-line families of a girl child born at Government Hospitals during 2019-20. MCC has kept funds for this in the annual budget. The amount will be available for the children after they turn 18,” said Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath.

She was addressing a press meet at the MCC office here on Friday.

“All children born at Government Hospitals after April 1, 2019, will be benefited from this scheme. Parents have to apply for the scheme within 90 days of the child’s birth. This will benefit one child from a family below poverty line. The family should have an income below Rs 2.5 lakh. Photo of the child with its parents should be submitted. All the injections should be provided to the child according to its age. Parents should compulsorily have Aadhaar card or voter’s ID,” she added.

“A committee led by the Commissioner of MCC will verify the applications every 15 days. Beneficiaries will be provided the bank bonds,” she added.

“1,56,000 customers are provided water from Vani Vilas Water Board. The people may now pay their water bills on BBPS portal from today onwards,” she added.
