Mysuru, September 25:-Mysore City Corporation (MCC) celebrated 4th anniversary of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Devaraja Market in city on Tuesday.
K H Jagadeesha MCC Commissioner while speaking at the function said that Mysuru city earlier bags Swachh city tag for two consecutive terms, lauding the efforts of pourakarmikaras’s who strive to keep the city clean 365 days a year.
MCC Commissioner urged the citizens of the city to join hands with the authorities to keep the city clean, urged to extend support to reclaim the ‘Cleanest city’ tag for Mysuru, and eliminate the use of plastic.
Rajamate Pramoda Devi Wadiyar while speaking on the occasion said that apart from cleanest city tag, Mysureans should strive to keep the city clean all the time.
Speaking on the menace of Plastic use she said that citizens should take care to use biodegradable plastic to save environment and added that it is appalling to see the animals eating discarded plastic instead of their usual diet and falling sick. She also advised students to adopt eco-friendly measures to save our city, earth and animals.
Human Touch organisation volunteers and students of Yuvaraja College participated in the event.
