MCC officer Murthy to take legal action against MCC Commissioner

S M Venktesha Murthy, assistant statistical officer in MCC, department of births and deaths, who had recently filed a complaint against MCC Commissioner Dr C G Betsurmath and others, now wants to initiate legal action against them.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Murthy said that the reactions given by MCC Commissioner, Mayor B L Bhyrappa and MCC Health Officer Dr Ramachandra, saying that I am mentally imbalanced sends a wrong message and creates suspicion among the people. “This is an act to mentally harass me. After returning to Mysuru, I was not allocated any work, attendance has not been taken and my salary has been withheld. My family has been in difficult times and I even threatened to commit suicide to which Betsurmath apologised and consequently took me back to office in February. However, I was harassed with a series of notices sent by MCC Health Officer.”

“I have been targeted unnecessarily by MCC officials on my transfer from Delhi and have been mentally tortured on a daily basis. Investigations will reveal the truth.”

Murthy’s wife Prabhavathi and son Vijaya Raghavendra were present.
