MCC, Police launch ‘Footpath clearance drive’ to evict vendors, shops

Mysuru, August 11:- The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) officials along with city traffic police personnel on Friday launched the ‘Footpath clearance drive’ to evict vendors and petty shops from the pavements in the city.

The shops which had come up on the pavements at several places in the city were causing hindrance to the free movement of pedestrians.Page 3 lead photo 1 Aug 11

Several shops which had encroached footpaths on Sayyaji Rao Road were also cleared by the city traffic police personnel. DCP Vikram Amte had instructed the ASIs not to allow shops to encroach the footpaths. The operation to evict footpath encroachers will continue for sometime.
