MCC’s drive against open defecation in city

A few teams of Mysuru City Corporation officials conducted a special drive against open defecation in various places of the city on Tuesday.

Following directions from the state and Union Ministries of Municipal Administration as part of the Swachch Bharat Abhiyan, several teams of the MCC went on a drive on Tuesday and visited nearly 13 spots including lorry terminal, Mayura Complex, Krishnamurthypuram, Kalamandir, Kudremala, under construction Maharani’s College building, Dongri Colony, Contour Road, Bhyraveshwara Nagar, Medar Block and other places in the city.

MCC Commissioner Dr C G Betsurmath said that there was minimal open defecation in the city and said measures would be initiated to make the city free from open defecation.

MCC Health Officer Dr Ramachandra, Dr D G Nagaraj and Dr Tabassum, and other commissioners and engineers were present.
