MDJA holds interaction programme with leaders of political parties

BJP is not against Tipu Jayanti, says BJP leader BP Manjunath

Mysuru, April 12:- Mysuru District Journalists’ Association organised a discussion with the leaders of various political parties at Mysuru Press Club on Wednesday. They answered various questions regarding their election plans and future goals.

“We will seek votes based on the development works done by the Siddaramaiah government. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (Secular) are making false allegations that Congress is not developing the state. The Congress will win in Mysuru and majority of seats across the state. People know how Mysuru was before 2013 and now. People know the contributions of Congress to Mysuru,” said Congress city president R Murthy.

“Congress is no more relevant in most of the states in India. Congress came to power in the 2013 Assembly elections due to the internal squabbles in BJP and not on their own. Congress believes that Muslims and Dalits are their vote bank. But they will not vote for Congress this time. I am not against Tipu Jayanti. We will discuss about it at the party meeting. The statement of Union Minister of State (MoS) Ananth Kumar Hegde is his personal opinion and not of the party. He is an ‘idiot’ and I condemn what he has said,” said BJP leader B P Manjunath.

“We will come back to power following the political rivalry between BJP and Congress. We are sure of people voting for JD(S) as they are happy with the development works of H D Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy. Congress divided Lingayats and Dalits. BJP is also doing the same. People of Karnataka are expecting a secular party to govern the state,” said JD(S) city president Cheluvegowda.

“Our aim is to defeat the communal parties. Where our candidates are not contesting, we will support the candidates who do not belong to any communal party,” SDPI state general secretary Abdul Majeed.

“Minister Tanveer Sait has not done any development work in N R Constituency. He is not required as the MLA in the constituency. If I get elected as the MLA, I will conduct ‘janata darshan’ once in every three months. I will instruct the officials to solve the problems of the public on time,” he added.
