MGP to observe ‘World Consumer Day’ in Mysuru tomorrow

Mysuru, March 14:- The Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) is organising the annual ‘World Consumer Day’ on March 15 at the Chikka Gadiyara (Dufferin Clock Tower) premises from 10 am to 4 pm.

There will be demo and food adulteration detection for the benefit of consumers to bring awareness about the food articles purchased by them. There will be demo on cleaning fruits and vegetables before their consumption. Guidance about consumer issues is also being provided by MGP. About analyses of food samples conducted by MGP it was found that consumers should be careful of using loose tea samples as they are adulterated.

MYMUL will tell the people about their milk supply system and the quality as well as safety aspect of milk and milk products. There will be a representative from M/s Shroff Varthakara Sangha from whom consumers can consult about the quality of gold jewellery.

Pratham, an NGO, which is doing service to help the government for improving primary education system will also be showcasing their services. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) will deal queries related to diesel and petrol supply.

The Weights and Measures Department will be educating the public about the authenticity of weights and measures of the items purchased by them.
