Mysuru, August 23:- Minister R Ashoka visited flood-affected areas of Hunsur and Periyapattana on Thursday. He also visited the rehabilitation centre at Niluvagilu village in Hunsur taluk and spoke to the flood-affected people.
“I visited the flood-affected areas of the district as instructed by the Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa. Houses, agricultural land, properties have been completely damaged due to floods. Several villages are completely damaged and the residents have agreed to get shifted to new places. Government is providing all the requirements to the people,” he said while speaking to media.
He said that there is nothing wrong in the statement of BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel who said the party will be strengthened in Mysuru on ‘Dakshina Kannada model’ in Mysuru.
“I know why you are asking me this question. Hinduism is our agenda and there is nothing to hide about it. Party has to be strengthened from the grassroots level. We have to win the elections with the cadre base and not on a wave. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has told the same. There is some dissatisfaction over cabinet formation in the party which will be sorted out,” he said.
MLA L Nagendra, Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar, police officials and others were present. (MR/KS)
