Mysuru, June 30:- Tourism and Sericulture Minister Sa Ra Mahesh who is determined to shift the Mysore Race Club (MRC) out of city limits will again pay a visit to MRC premises on Sunday.
Following directions from Mahesh, the officials and workers of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) on Friday cleared the unauthorised temporary sheds that were constructed at MRC premises in the city. The MCC Commissioner had set June 30 as the deadline to clear the temporary sheds and illegal structures at race course premises.
Meanwhile, Mahesh along with officials is again visiting MRC premises at 8 am on Sunday. It is speculated that the visit gains significance as the minister is scheduled to convene a meeting with MRC management regarding the shifting of the race course.
“During his visit Mahesh is likely to check if the management of MRC have complied with all the directions given by him during his last visit and then would convene a meeting to discuss the shifting of the race course,” sources said.
Mahesh is apparently fighting to get the MRC shifted out of city limits from more than 10 years and last week after taking charge as the Tourism Minister he proposed to shift MRC to the outskirts of city and had said that a Botanical Garden would be developed at the present MRC premises which can attract more tourist footfall in the city. -(KK)
