Mysuru, August 5:- District in-charge Minister S T Somashekar and Janata Dal (Secular) MLA from Chamundeshwari Constituency G T Devegowda have both tested positive for coronavirus. This comes close on the heels of veteran Congress leader Siddaramaiah testing positive on Tuesday.
Somashekar’s personal assistant had tested positive on July 28. As a result, the minister was quarantined at home for seven days. His office was sealed down for seven days and the public entry was also prohibited.
The minister’s office is being sanitised and as such, no visitors will be allowed till further notice. Somashekar will be home-quarantined, according to sources from the minister’s office.
Devegowda has tweeted that after he underwent a corona test, it has proved to be positive. “As there are no symptoms, I have been advised to be in home isolation. At the same time, I request all my primary and secondary contacts to get screened for the virus.”
The JD(S) MLA also said he would pray to Goddess Chamundeshwari for the well-being of Somashekar. “He should get well soon and continue his good work,” Devegowda said. (MR/KS)
