Man gets two-year jail term

Mysuru, August 30:- POCSO court has sentenced a person to two-year jail for misbehaving with a minor. The judgment has come within 6 months of the alleged incident.

Naveen (22) of Govindahalli of K R Pet taluk is the culprit. The girl was alone at home on February 17 as the school was closed.  Naveen came to her house on the pretext of supplying water. The girl who was alone at home told him there was sufficient water at home. Naveen asked her to chuck the old water and get a new can. As advised, she threw the old water and returned with a new can but to her shock, he was standing naked. The scared girl immediately closed the door and screamed for help. Neighbours rushed to girl’s house but then, Naveen had escaped. The girl explained the incident to her mother when she returned home. They filed a complaint at V V Puram police station. Police immediately arrested Naveen and produced him before POCSO court. Judge Jayashree announced her verdict. (MR/KS).
