Mysuru, November 13:- More often than not, innocent women fall prey to chain snatchers. Their modus operandi keeps changing time and again, which is why it is difficult to keep track of them. In an incident that happened near a convention hall near Hinakal ring road on Sunday, a man snatched a gold chain from a woman and escaped.
Bhadramma (60), a resident of Chikkegowdana Koppal of Elavala hobli, is the victim who lost her 35 gram gold chain. Bhadramma’s purse accidentally fell on the road and when she was about to pick it up, a stranger kicked up a fight with her, saying it was his purse. Before the lady could realise what was happening, the youth ran away. Around this time, a woman came to Bhadramma and told her to remove her gold mangalasutra as it was not safe. No sooner Bhadramma removed the chain, a man pounced on her and made good with the chain. A gang of chain snatchers is active in the city.
Vijayanagar Police have registered a complaint.
