Mysuru, January 26:- In view of the recent misappropriation of funds at Nanjungud Temple, a special team has been constituted by Deputy Commissioner D Randeep to suggest reforms and computerisation of the system to curb misuse of funds.
In an order issued by DC Randeep,a copy of which is available with City Today, the executive officer of Sri Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hill; Tahsildar; Religious and Charitable Endowments, Mysuru; Manager, Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry and M S Nagaraj, clerk, Chamundeshwari Temple, Chamundi Hill have been appointed for the special team to suggest reforms and submit a report on the same.
The special team will visit Nanjangud Temple and conduct a research on whether a computerised system can be introduced to replace the manual receipt that is given to the devotees, to curb financial misappropriation.
The team is directed to study on collection of the service fee, parking fee and footwear-stand fee and see whether the computerised system can be introduced to issue the tickets. The committee members have been asked to submit a report before February 10.
The special team was constituted after an Audit Report revealed misappropriation of more than Rs 14 lakh at Nanjangud Temple. Following this, a store room assistant of Sri Nanjundeshwara Temple in Nanjangud and a woman staff working in Dasoha Bhavan were suspended by additional DC of Mysuru T Yogesh, who is also the Temple Administrative Officer. -KK
