MLA Nagendra inaugurates civil works in Mysuru

Mysuru, February 12:- Chamaraja Constituency Bharatiya Janata Party MLA L Nagendra performed the ‘guddali pooja’ (ground breaking ceremony) for the Lawar Basappa ‘Garadi’ (a place to practice the traditional wrestling on red sand turf) at Mandi Mohalla in the city on Saturday (February 12).

The Garadi was constructed under the MLA Development Fund of Rs 10 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Nagendra said “Kusti (wrestling) sport has been popular since the time of Mysuru kings. The young generation is less interested in this sport due to the modern lifestyle. This is not right. They must show interest and perform these arts to be healthy and make a name for themselves.”
Mysuru City Corporation member M D Nagaraju, Ramesh (Ramani), M Chikkavenkatu, Ravindra, Vokkaliga Sangha vice-president Rajakiya Ravikumar, L Manju, Cable Viji, The Mysore Cooperative Bank director H Harish Kumar, Paduvarahalli M Ramakrishna and others were present. (AM/KS)
