Long-pending developmental works in the limits of Ward 36 of Mysuru City Corporation finally kickstarted on Wednesday.
Chamaraja Constituency MLA Vasu inaugurated the works which was being undertaken at the cost of Rs 30 lakh under MLA special grants which was allotted from the Chief Minister’s special grants to the heritage city. This is the third phase of various welfare works undertaken under Chief Minister’s special grants of Rs 100 lakh.

The works included asphalting the link road between Devaraj Urs Road and Vinobha Road, Veene Sheshanna Road to Cheluvamba, Agrahara, few cross roads in the limits. Also, concretising of the drainage line will be taken up.
Performing the groundbreaking ceremony, MLA Vasu said that Bandikeri area in the limits of Devaraja Mohalla was one of the oldest areas in the heritage city which was known for housing huge numbers of freedom fighters.
MCC Councilor of Ward 36 P Prashanth assured that works would be completed within a month. Mayor B L Bhyrappa and local residents were present.
The developmental works that have been launched comprise asphalting of the link road between Devaraj Urs Road and Vinobha Road, concretisation of the drainage line etc.
