Mysuru, June 5:- Former Congress MLAs Vasu, Kalale Keshavamurthy, MLC R Dharmasena, District Congress president B J Vijay Kumar appealed the teachers to vote for M Lakshman, the Congress candidate for the Teachers’ Constituency, in the Vidhana Parishat elections.
The Congress leaders were campaigning for Lakshman at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Tuesday.
B J Vijay Kumar clarified that the Congress-Janata Dal (Secular) alliance is only for the government and not to any other elections.
“Congress has received 5,00,000 more votes than any other party. Unfortunately we have not won seats as expected. The people have been worried about democracy failing in the nation. Congress high command has instructed to work from booth level to strengthen the party. All the party workers have to work hard to make sure that M Lakshman wins the MLC seat,” Vijay Kumar said.
Kalale Keshavamurthy appealed to vote for M Lakshman to stop the donation racket in private schools.
“Allegations of government schools lacking quality are made. Lack of staff is the major reason behind it. Former primary and secondary education minister Tanveer Sait had prepared all the documents for the appointment of 23,000 posts. It has got nothing to do with the statement of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy,” said former MLA Vasu.
