Mysuru, October 16:- If the two netas make it to Chamundi Hills as promised on Thursday, the moneygate scandal should see a logical end. Janata Dal (Secular) MLA Sa Ra Mahesh has been alleging that veteran leader AH Vishwanath sold himself for Rs 25 crore to help Bharatiya Janata Party oust the coalition government. Vishwanath on Tuesday challenged Mahesh to come to Chamundi Hills on October 17 with proof.
“I have accepted his challenge to swear on Goddess Chamundeshwari. I will be at Chamundi Hills on Thursday at 9 am,” said Mahesh at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Wednesday.
“If he proves that he or his family has not fallen prey to money, I will apologise unconditionally to the state. I will prove how much money he has taken and how much money he demanded from the then chief minister HD Kumaraswamy. I will also publicise the discussion held at our farmhouse,” he added.
“When Vishwanath was rejected by everyone, we brought him to the party despite opposition from GT Devegowda and made him an MLA. Has he not cheated the voters now? We already know who will contest from Hunsur from our party. BJP is already prepared to make a district in-charge minister after the Supreme Court verdict,” he added.
“BJP will not field Vishwanath from Hunsur. If he contests, he will lose badly. He won’t contest the by-election. Saddened by personal abuses and political games, I have submitted my resignation to the speaker on September 18 and it is being verified. I have not taken it back till today,” he Mahesh added.
KT Cheluvegowda, Rajanna, Prakash, Ravichandregowda and others were present. (MR/KMR)
