More arrests made in human trafficking case in Mumbai

Prime News, National, Mumbai, July 1:- The Sahar police investigating human trafficking racket at Mumbai Airport, arrest two more officials in an alleged help extended to pass through Mumbai airport for fake passport holders.

The police disclosed that at least 25 people flew to the United States and Canada on fake passport allegedly with the help of immigration officials taking the arrest to four officers.

The police yet to nab the kingpin, Pappu Shaikh(50) and arrested eight agents and a woman flyer.

Investigators had a breakthrough in the case when a woman flyer Komal Damgar was deported on the charges of possessing fake identity card and passport from Canada.

The woman passenger revealed the identity of the traffickers and immigration officers. Based on her clue the investigator arrested three agents Gaurav Singh, Mukadam Ali and Mushtak Kapde, who revealed the role of two officers Harshad Patil and Anil Surase, subsequently, the officers arrested.

While investigating the police scoop on call data records (CDR) of accused Shaik’s son Imran (30) who is behind bars, police found the accused had been in touch with immigration officers Rajesh Godse (37) and BA Praveen (33) since 2016 for clearing flyers with forged/fake passports.
Investigators able to collect copies of the 25 flyers’ documents that were cleared by the four arrested immigration officials at Mumbai airport.

All the alleged flyers were from Gujarat and deported from Canada and US, the accused Shaikh booking the tickets when these immigration officials on duty, added investigating officers.
