More than 2,000 from Mysuru to attend Brahmins’ Convention in Bengaluru

Mysuru, February 22:- “More than 2,000 people from Mysuru will attend the mega convention of Brahmins at National College Grounds at Basavanagudi in Bengaluru on February 24-25. Akhila Karnataka Brahmana Mahasabha has made transport arrangements for members who wish to attend the convention,” said president of district Brahmana Association D T Prakash at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Thursday.

“The community is struggling due to lack of government opportunities. Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh governments have provided reservations for poor Brahmins. We will urge the state government to do the same at the convention,” he said.

“Former chief minister and JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy will inaugurate the convention. MLA R V Devaraj, K Gopalaiah, YSV Datta, MLC Arakalagudu Narayana Swamy, former Mayor of BBMP Hemalatha Gopalaiah, Corporator Ramesh and others will attend the event,” he added.
