Mysuru, August 3:- Unable to bear the alleged harassment by her alcoholic husband, a woman along with her two children took the extreme step to end their lives, but were saved by the timely intervention.of officials near Kapila River.
The temple officials and police personnel who got to know about the woman attempting to commit suicide rescued her along with her two daughters before they could jump into the river. Jaya, a resident of Sunnadakeri in Mysuru had decided to end her life along with her two daughters.
Jaya was married to one Shivakumar of Sunnadakeri six years ago. Shivakumar, who was working at a granite centre was an alcoholic and was often troubling Jaya. As her husband didn’t change his drinking habits, she decided to end her life along with two daughters.
Meanwhile, the police summoned Shivakumar to the police station and warned him. (KS, NGB)
