Mysuru, December 17:- Mysuru-Kodagu Member of Parliament Pratap Simha flagged off the special electric train, MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) between Mysuru, Bengaluru and Yelahanka on Monday night at the Mysuru Railway Station.
The railway department has fulfilled the long pending demand of the public for introduction of MEMU train.
“The number of trains running between Mysuru and Bengaluru has increased. It enables people to commute between the two cities with ease. Now the fourth MEMU train has been introduced between Mysuru and Bengaluru,” the MP said.
Senior South Western Railway (SWR), Mysuru division operations manager Satish, commercial manager Dr Yatish, and others were present.
Already three there are MEMU trains running between Mysuru and Bengaluru. The new MEMU train has been added to the list. This train leaves Mysuru every night at 10:20 pm and reaches Yelahanka at 1:30 am. It leaves Yelahanka at 2:30 am and reaches Mysuru at 5:30 am. It stops at Mandya, Kengeri, Bengaluru and Yeshwanthpura. (KS, NGB)
