Mysuru-Kodagu Member of Parliament Pratap Simha took officials and contractors of new ESI Hospital in city, to task over the inordinate delay in the opening of the new hospital.
On Wednesday, Simha inspected and expressed his displeasure over the newly-constructed ESI Hospital on KRS Road. Simha took out a sudden inspection after receiving a series of complaints over inordinate delay in opening of the new hospital.
Speaking on the occasion, Simha said “The Centre had released Rs 34.5 crore for the new hospital and the construction of this hospital started six years ago, but still has not been completed. The hospital authorities have not constructed the basic facility like ramps inside the hospital and overall have not done a good job in terms of planning, quality check and execution.”
“The new hospital will benefit over 2.5 lakh people of Mysuru, Mandya, Hassan, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu and other neighbouring regions. The hospital authorities instead of buying new equipment had simply reinstalled old equipment in the new rooms,” he added.
Simha said that the contractor has assured to complete the works by the end of this month and that he would inspect the hospital again soon.
