MP Simha’s ‘power greed’ remark does not go well with Geetha Mahadevaprasad

Responding to MP Pratap Simha’s derogatory remarks against her, Geetha Mahadevaprasad, Congress candidate from Gundlupet, said “MP Pratap Simha has once again proved that BJP has no respect for women by making humiliating comments against me.”

Simha, during a campaign had said that Geetha Mahadevaprasad is contesting the by-election for greed of power. “She enjoyed all the powers when her husband was a minister. Soon after performing the final rituals of Mahadevaprasad, Geetha has joined politics in pursuit of power,” the MP had said.

Former minister and BJP leader M P Renukacharya, during his campaign for BJP candidate C S Niranjan Kumar, also targeted Geetha Mahadevaprasad saying “She should not have contested the election immediately after the death of her husband Mahadevaprasad. Congress leaders chose Geetha Mahadevaprasad as a candidate to capitalise on sympathy votes,” said Renukacharya. BJP MLA C T Ravi was present.

Meanwhile, Congress leaders, including Mysuru Zilla Panchayat former president Dr Pushpa Amarnath among others, threatened to launch a protest against BJP leaders for their remarks against Geetha Mahadevaprasad. Pushpa Amarnath demanded apology from the Lok Sabha member and said that Simha has been targeting women and BJP leaders have no respect for women in our country. -PR
