A team comprising MLAs G T Devegowda, Vasu, MUDA Chairman K R Mohan Kumar on Friday inspected the controversial layout in Hebbal industrial area that has been constructed by K Marigowda who is a trusted aide of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The layout has been constructed in the name of Mysore Taluk Cooperative Society.
Marigowda who is the former president of the Mysuru Zilla Panchayat, along with his two supporters allegedly intimidated the Deputy Commissioner at the Government Guest House where Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had arrived to take part in the Iftaar party last week.
An FIR has been registered at the Nazarbad Police Station based on the complaint by DC Shikha against Marigowda under IPC Sections 143, 147, 504 and 353. He is absconding at present.
The inspection team visited the layout and collected information from officials and the looked into records and government orders. Later speaking to reporters, MLA G T Devegowda said that the government had cancelled the allotment of land to the layout way back in 2003 and it was a government B Kharab land where a private layout has been illegally built.
The MLA said that despite the government order, private parties and land mafia have collected money from gullible people promising sites in the layout. “CM’s aide K Marigowda is a huge beneficiary of the land dealings in this illegal layout that comes under Survey Number 80 and there is a conspiracy to grab government land,” he said and demanded action against the guilty.
MUDA Chairman K R Mohan Kumar said that of the 4.43 acres in the Hebbal Industrial Area, the government had handed over 1.20 acres to KIADB to construct a godown and 3.29 acres was handed over to construct an industrial estate by the society. “But the Mysore Taluk Cooperative Society encroached upon 5 acres of land adjacent to the 3.29 acre land and built an illegal layout. The society later collected money from private parties promising sites,” he said.
The entire layout was illegal and MUDA had nothing to do with it and the permission for the layout was withdrawn. The MUDA will submit a report to the government on how an illegal layout was constructed illegally and how the government land was encroached upon, MUDA officials said.
