MUDA to hand over 30 layouts to MCC

The Mysuru Urban development authority (MUDA) will be handing over 30 layouts developed in the city to Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), confirmed outgoing chairman of MUDA, K R Mohan Kumar.

Addressing at a press meet held on Wednesday, Mohan Kumar said officials of the MUDA and MCC have jointly conducted the spot inspection of all the 30 layouts and have submitted a report. There are around 60 private layouts which are ready to be handed over to the MCC. Of these, MCC took over 19 layouts a few months back and MUDA is ready to hand over 30 additional layouts to the civic body and later would extend basic facilities to residents.

Mohan Kumar, who completed his 21-month term as the MUDA Chairman, said that the process to acquire land for development of layout in Ballahalli near Kergalli is getting delayed as farmers have pledged their land documents to get loans from various financers. The project of Ballahalli is planned in partnership basis with farmers instead of the regular money compensation. The main plan of this project is to develop nearly 6000 and odd sites over an area of 485 acre. He also assured that the proposed Ambedkar Bhavan, which is already delayed, would be expected to be completed in the next eight months.

Upgradation of Bannimantap grounds:

MUDA is investing Rs 6.45 crore to upgrade the facilities at Bannimantap Grounds and also increase the seating capacity to 32,000. MUDA Commissioner Mahesh, Secretary Savitha, Superintendent engineer Shivakumar, MUDA members Anwar, Bhaskar and others were present.
