Mysuru, September 16:- Compensation along with interest will be paid in one instalment to the farmers whose land has been notified by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). This information was given Mysuru Urban Development (MUDA) chairman H V Rajeev at a press conference held at his office on JLB Road here on Tuesday. This is the first presser Rajeev is holding after taking charge.
He said, “The decision was taken after holding a meeting with the members of MUDA. The 250 civic amenity (CA) sites available with the MUDA will also be distributed in the coming days. Group housing scheme and land for the poor were also discussed at the meeting. If necessary, MUDA is ready to offer Rs 5 crore towards Mysuru Dasara festivities.”
The MUDA chief said, “MUDA will be donating Rs 90 lakh for the treatment of ‘corona warriors’ at Vikram Jeshta Hospital in the city. A decision has also been taken to provide parking.”
Rajeev added, “33 villages coming under Jayapura, Yelawal, Varuna hobli and Nanjangud taluk have been added to local development scheme. Drinking water and drainage system will be provided after thorough planning. Retired engineers will be asked to prepare a plan. Focus is also on developing parks in private layouts.”
The MUDA chairman also mentioned that steps are being taken for speedy processing of works. “Janaspandana programme will soon start. The emphasis will be on online payment of tax and plan approval. Some miscreants are trying to sell vacant sites to gullible buyers. People will have to crosscheck before buying a site. On earlier occasions, only Lakshmipuram Police Station was handling illegal land cases. In future, all police stations will accept complaints. I have spoken to the Mysuru Commissioner of Police Dr Chandragupta too in this regard. People have to be careful while buying or selling land.” (MR/KS)
