Muhurat of movie ‘Odeya’ held amidst galaxy of dignitaries in Mysuru

Mysuru, August 16:- The muhurat of film ‘Odeya’ starring Challenging Star Darshan Thoogudeepa was held with fervour in the city on Thursday.

‘Odeya’ produced under the ‘Sandesh’ banner had its muhurat ceremony here as veteran Kannada actor-turned politician Ambareesh clapped and gave the formal launch to the film.

A galaxy of celebrities including politicians took part in the launch of the film. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa who had to take part in the muhurat skipped the programme. BJP state vice president and former minister V Srinivas Prasad, MLA L Nagendra, MLC Sandesh Nagaraj, producer and industrialist Sandesh, BJP city president Dr BH Manjunath and others were present.

Speaking to media persons at a press meet, Darshan said, “The shooting of the film will begin from September 10 and the first schedule will be shot in and around Mysuru for 30-35 days. ‘Odeya’ is the remake of Tamil film ‘Veeram,’ starring Ajit and is a complete family-oriented entertainer.”

“This is my third movie under the Sandesh banner and also my third film for director M D Sridhar. Most of the crew members have been associated with me in my earlier projects and I feel like working in my own banner,” he added.

We never kept ‘Wodeyar’ as the title

“We never opted for ‘Wodeyar’ title and had registered only ‘Odeya’ as the title of film. There was a widespread speculations about the title and I would like to clarify in this platform that we never kept the title ‘Wodeyar’ for the film,” said Darshan.

“Brought up in Mysuru and knowing the legacy of Mysuru Wodeyar’s, I have a immense respect towards the royal family of Mysuru. Speculation were rife that we were making a film titled ‘Wodeyar’ which was far from truth. From the beginning we wished to have ‘Odeya’ title,” he confirmed.
