Mysuru, February 14:- Renowned Kannada actor Mukhyamantri Chandru recalled his acting career after Chandrashekhar became Mime Chandru, University Chandru and later Mukhyamantri Chandru.
He was speaking to media persons at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Friday.
“After I acted in play ‘Mukhyamantri,’ people started calling me as “Mukhyamantri Chandru.” Though I have acted in both small screen and big screen, theatre is my favourite. The play ‘Mukhyamantri’ used to be staged 20-24 shows every year across the world,” he said.
“I have also worked as an ambassador for Kannada. I have also served as the chairman of Kannada Development Authority (KDA). I have completed 40 years in theatre. Theatre has shaped my life. Everything has happened accidentally for me. I have come to Mysuru to take part in ‘Bahuroopi National Theatre Festival’ happily as it is being held on the theme Gandhi Patha,” he added. (MR/KS)
