For the first time, Mysuru City Corporation has got Civic Amenity (CA) sites from Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), Private land developers and cooperative societies, said Mayor B L Bhyrappa.
Addressing his last media conference here in the city on Monday, Bhyrappa said, “The MCC has taken up various development works including construction of zonal offices, food zones, toilet complexes, playgrounds, libraries and many others in the 22 CA sites that have been procured. The MUDA has approved a total of 72 new residential layouts and 19 of them have already been taken over by MCC. At least 30 of the sites would be taken over shortly for development and remaining 23 layouts that come within the ring roads will be included under the MCC.”
“As Mayor, I tried to continue the good work of my predecessors and I was able to introduce transparency in issuing khata and trade licence online. But many projects such as changing of street lights to light emitting diodes (LED) are pending before the cabinet,” he added.
Rs 12 crore collected post-demonetisation
Since the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currencies, Mysuru City Corporation has collected a record of Rs 12 crore revenue. The revenue includes property tax, water cess, trade license fees and other taxes.
