MYRA launches CEDABI

 Centre of Excellence in Data Analytics and Business Insights is a dedicated centre for research and learning

 The Centre of Excellence in Data Analytics and Business Insights (CEDABI), MYRA School of Business a dedicated centre for research and learning was launched in the presence of global experts from Boeing, Indian Institute of Science, Minacs, ReMSL, Toyota and others recently.
The launch was preceded by a highly engaging and insightful seminar on ‘Data Analytics and Business Intelligence.’  The seminar was inaugurated by Global Head—Minacs Command Center & Process Excellence, The Minacs Group Amit Dhar.

Addressing the gathering he discussed the industry-responses to the major challenges in business and mentioned that in his organisation data analytics was viewed as horizontal that cuts across different verticals and professionals in diverse roles across these verticals contribute to the virtual Centre of Analytics which connects the customer with the enriched experience through analytics.
David J Kasik, Senior Technical Fellow, The Boeing Company, Seattle, Washington, in his insightful keynote address shared that Boeing has hugely varied domains of interest to building its aerospace products —ranging from basic physics, to statistics, networking, computing, material science, hydrogeology, natural language analysis and so on and hence the growth of data there is exponential, from terabytes to zetabytes, to say the least. 

Boeing has made an impact on computing, computer graphics, visual analytics, user interface management systems, and a host of other technological developments.  He said that Data was an asset to any company and therefore we need to pay enormous attention to data. 

He deliberated that it was important to develop better understanding using visualisation techniques, and there were significant opportunities to expand visualisation technology in any industry.
T R Parasuraman, Deputy Managing Director, and Board Member, Toyota Industries inaugurating the event revealed two secrets of Toyota —first, adopting the principles of the 5S Model in their factories and offices — a Lean Manufacturing tool designed to improve workplace efficiency and improve productivity, while also reducing costs — complete with visual controls and order. 
The talks were followed by a panel discussion moderated by Dr Abhinanda Sarkar, Associate Dean and Director of Research, MYRA.  Santhosh Nair, Founder, Analytic Edge, Pvt Ltd, Gaurav Bhalotia, VP of Engineering Flipkart and Debasis Bal, Senior Director, Data Science, Fidelity Investments were the panelists.
