MYRA to host Arjun Malhotra for its 7th distinguished lecture

Mysuru, January 17:- Arjun Malhotra, a well-known technocrat and member of the Board of MYRA School of Business and would be addressing a gathering at the 7th distinguished lecture organised by MYRA School of Business in the city on Thursday.

Revered as a pioneer in the Indian information technology industry, Malhotra has 42 years experience in the public and private domain. With Shiv Nadar and four other colleagues, he co-founded the HCL group—one of India’s largest technology corporations, in 1975.

He was the co-founder and vice chairman of HCL group for 23 years and founded the company TechSpan in 1998.  When TechSpan merged with Headstrong—a US based IT consulting company, he became the CEO of Headstrong in 2004 and served in that position until the end of 2011, when it was bought over by Genpact. He is currently serving as director of the Board at Lumis Partners; Pyramid Cyber Security America Inc; A T Group; Evolphin Software Inc; Mapmygenome-The Indian Genomics Company and Entercoms.

Malhotra founded the Prof G S Sanyal School of Telecommunications and Prof M N Faruqui Centre for Innovation at IIT Kharagpur through a personal endowment. He is on the Board of the IIT Kharagpur Foundation and serves as the chairman of Vision 2020.

Malhotra was conferred with the Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) by IIT Kharagpur in September 2012.He is a winner of the Silicon Valley Entrepreneurs Award and is a recipient of many awards across the globe.

Malhotra earned his Bachelor of Technology (Honours) in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur in 1970 and received the Dr B C Roy Gold Medal for his achievements. He has also attended the Advanced Management Programme at the Harvard Business School in 1985.

Malhotra who is currently chairman of Pyramid Cyber Security America Inc; Magic Software Inc and Evolko Inc, will be reminiscing on his over four decade long professional journey in due course of his Distinguished Lecture aptly titled ‘My Journey.’ -(KK)
