Mysuru, February 22:- ‘Mysore-in-a Market’ is a day-night flea market to be held in the city on Sunday, featuring brands from across the country, specially curated food area and live music.
‘’The aim is to give the city its own unique flea market and Mysureans a unique experience in intense shopping, lip-smacking food and live entertainment – all clubbed together under one roof for a day-night market on a scale the city has never seen before,’’ said M S Sachin, PRO of the event at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Thursday.
“It is a market which will give Mysureans a feel and experience of 90 plus select brands from cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Hyderabad and more; selling products in decor and home accessories, pets and grooming, jewellery, healthy food, men’s and women’s apparel, plants and gardening, quirky merchandise, art installations, health and wellness and many more.”
Apart from the shopping, there’s a specially curated food area with food trucks and live food counters featuring brands which are also from outside the city, serving a variety of cuisines to satisfy your gastronomical needs as well. Add to this, an all-day DJ and MC, a stage for live entertainment with an open mic contest exclusively for students and two live bands in the evening, it is sure to be a Sunday like no other.
Parents can shop all they can without having to worry about their kids. There’s a specially curated kids activity zone to keep kids and children of all ages happily occupied. The market is also pet-friendly and taking your pets along is encouraged so they can be pampered and treated to all the products the pet brands will be selling. If that wasn’t a good enough reason to take your pets along, here’s one more – the owner of the pet need not purchase an entry ticket.
Regardless of your age, gender, shopping habits, taste in food or music, there’s something for you to look forward to at the 1st edition of ‘Mysore-in-a Market’ which is to be held from 11 am to 11 pm at Scouts and Guides Ground in the city.
The market will be inaugurated on February 24 at 11 am by Arpitha Pratap Simha. H Janardhan, Deputy Director of Tourism Department, will be the guest of honour..
A part of the proceeds from ticket sales at the market will be made over to the market’s cause partner, ‘The Little Sisters Of The Poor, Mysuru,’ a charitable organisation and retirement home in the city which aims to make the aged feel secure, loved and cared for in their twilight years.
Event organiser Nidhi Shah, Girish of Bhagyalakshmi Foods and Manish of Kids Academy were present. (MR)
