Mysuru continues to register low count of Covid-19 infections; tally nears 50,000 mark

Mysuru, November 17:- Mysuru continues to register a low count of Covid-19 infections as the district reported 64 new cases on Monday (November 16) and one fatality as its cumulative count of coronavirus infections is closer to 50,000 mark.

The district now has a total of 49,548 cases. With 170 patients discharged, the tally of discharged patients stands at 47,833. Of the 49,548 cases, 733 are active. The district’s death toll has risen to 982.

Only Bengaluru with 597 new cases in three digits whereas there were 12 districts where the cases were in single digit and zero fatalities in 24 districts including Kalaburagi for the second time in a row.

Kalaburagi was the district where the first death due to coronavirus took place in the country.
Besides Mysuru, 64 new cases are reported in Mandya followed by 52 in Hassan, 50 in Dakshina Kannada and 46 in Bengaluru Rural district.

Ballari has 15 new cases, Belagavi 29, Chikkaballapura 26, Chikkamagaluru 17, Chitradurga 16, Davangere 22, Raichur 15, Tumakuru 15, Udupi 10, Uttara Kannada 19 and Vijayapura has registered 19 cases among the districts where the infections were reported.

There were only two fresh cases in Kodagu and Koppal and four in Haveri and Shivamogga.

With respect to mortality Bengaluru Urban topped the table with highest number as it has 4009 deaths so far followed by Mysuru 982, Dakshina Kannada 696, Dharwada 588, Ballari 571, Hassan 382, Tumakuru 357, Shivamogga 347 and Balagavi 340 among other districts in the state where considerable number of fatality were reported.
