Mysuru Covid-19 tally shoot up to 54,872 with 61 new cases

Mysuru, March 23:- Mysuru district on Monday (March 22) reported 61 new Covid-19 cases and 59 new recoveries, taking the tally of cumulative positive cases to 54,872 and total discharges to 53,490, according to a bulletin from the Health and Family Welfare Department.

Of the total 54,872 cases, 340 are active and stable across the district, the district also saw one fatality on Monday and death toll linked to coronavirus rose to 1042.

According to the Health Department’s bulletin, till March 22 evening, 27,675 beneficiaries among the Health Care Workers (HCWs) were inoculated in the first dose; 17,432 in the second dose. In the age group of 45-60-years, 10,381 beneficiaries were administered the jab in the first dose, while in the above 60 years age group, 57,919 intended beneficiaries received the Covid-19 vaccine in the second dose.

With regard to the Front Line Workers (FLWs), 11,619 doses of Covid-19 vaccine were administered in the first dose in the district and 2789 in the second dose. In Mysuru district, a total of 9,41,755 corona samples were tested on Monday which includes mostly RT-PCR method and Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).

Ramanagara district reported zero cases and 14 districts in the state have recorded single digit new cases, while 13 districts in double digit. Bengaluru Urban has 886 new cases and Udupi – 113 for the second consecutive day.

Of the 10 fatalities on Monday, Bengaluru Urban 4, Dakshina Kannada, Dharwad, Kalaburagi, Mysuru, Tumkur and Uttara Kannada reported one death each. (NAV)
