Mysuru district logs 118 new Covid-19 infections; 149 discharges

With 3 deaths on August 11 in Mysuru district, toll mounts to 2331

Prime News, Karnataka, Health, Disease, Mysuru, August 12:- After a decline in Covid-19 cases and fatalities for the last two weeks, more than 100 new infections were reported in Mysuru district on Wednesday (August 11).

The district on Wedneday (August 11) reported 118 fresh coronavirus infections and 149 discharges, taking the cumulative caseload to 1,74,199 and total recoveries to 1,70,694, according to a bulletin from the Health and Family Welfare Department.

Three deaths were recorded in Mysuru district on Wednesday and the toll has risen to 2331. Two deaths were reported from Mysuru city and one from Mysuru taluk.

A total of 1,91,3457 coronavirus samples were tested till August 11, 12,685 samples were tested on Wednesday alone.

Out of the 2331 deaths recorded so far, Mysuru city recorded 1666 deaths followed by Nanjungud – 128, Mysuru taluk – 125, T Narasipura – 105, Hunsur – 93, K R Nagar – 87, H D Kote – 65 and Periyapattana – 62.

Of the 118 new infections registered on Wednesday, Mysuru city reported 74 positive cases followed by Periyapattana-18, K R Nagar -10, Nanjangud – 6, H D Kote – 5, Hunsur – 3, Mysuru taluk – 2 and T Narasipura – nil.

Till August 11, Mysuru city registered 1,07,723 positive cases followed by Mysuru taluk – 13,870, 10,863 in Nanjangud, 10,360 in K R Nagar, 9884 in Hunsur, 8436 in T Narasipura, 7647 in Periyapattana and 5416 in H D Kote.

With 749 active cases in Mysuru city, the tally in the district stands at 1174 and the case count has further come down to below 2,000 as of August 11.

Periyapattana has 1542 active cases, Hunsur – 82, Mysuru taluk – 72,  K R Nagar – 57, H D Kote – 31, Nanjangud – 35, and T Narasipura – 6.

Till August 11, as many as 18 patients succumbed to mucormycosis (Black fungus) disease; 13 from K R Hospital, 4 from Apollo Hospital and one from Narayana Multispecialty Hospital and the district’s active cases further decreased to 18; JSS Hospital – 7, K R Hospital – 4, Columbia Asia Hospital Mysuru and Apollo Hospital – 3 each and Fort Cauvery Hospital – one.
