Mysuru District Police crack three cases; recover valuables from accused

Mysuru District Police have solved two dacoity cases and a theft case that were reported recently in Mysuru South and Nanjangud.

In the first case, a gang had looted a mobile phone shop in Nanjangud rural area and had stolen seven mobile sets. The police have seized a car, knives, an iron rod that were used for the crime and also recovered stolen items and mobile phones from the accused. The police arrested the youth near TVS Motor company when they were plotting a dacoity.

In the other case, Jayapura Police have arrested a tree cutter and recovered 35 big logs of teak and the vehicle used to transport the stolen logs. A case was registered by Rajanna of Ballanhalli where nine neem trees were chopped and stolen. Acting on a clue, the police arrested Basavegowda of Mandya district and recovered valuables worth Rs 4.5 lakh from him.

In another theft case, Mysuru South Police have arrested two youth Kiran and Bhaskar who had targeted a cell phone shop in Hosahundi village in Mysuru taluk and made away with several mobile phones.

Speaking to reporters, Superintendent of Police Abhinav Khare said, “The district police have taken several precautionary measures to control highway robbery and four highway police patrolling teams are working round-the-clock and many CCTV cameras have been installed at several places in the district.”
