Mysuru district reports equal number of new Covid-19 cases and discharges on Friday

Mysuru, July 31- Mysuru district on Friday (July 30) registered almost an equal number of new Covid-19 cases and discharges, taking the tally of cumulative caseload to 1,72,779 and total recoveries to 1,69,056, according to a bulletin from the Health and Family Welfare Department.

The district on Friday recorded 142 new coronavirus infections and 144 patients were discharged after recovering from the disease from designated hospitals and Covid Care Centres (CCCs).

The deaths due to the coronavirus has been on the decline and the district has recorded death in single digit, and the toll has climbed to 2303. Two deaths were recorded on Friday in the district, one each from Hunsur and Mysuru city.

Out of the 2303 deaths recorded so far, Mysuru city recorded 1649 deaths followed by Nanjungud – 127, Mysuru taluk – 120, T Narasipura – 104, Hunsur – 91, K R Nagar – 86, H D Kote – 63 and Periyapattana – 60.

Mysuru city reported 80 positive cases on July 30 followed by Periyapattana – 24, Hunsur – 13, K R Nagar – 10, Mysuru taluk – 6, H D Kote, Nanjangud and T Narasipura – three each.

Till July 30, Mysuru city registered 1,06,871 positive cases followed by Mysuru taluk – 13,795, 10,823 in Nanjangud, 10,284 in K R Nagar, 9788 in Hunsur, 8305 in T Narasipura, 7432 in Periyapattana and 5368 in H D Kote.

With 771 active cases in Mysuru city, the tally in the district stands at 1420 and the case count has further come down below 2,000 as of July 30. A total of 1,80,8787 coronavirus samples were tested till July 30, 5704 samples were tested on Friday alone.

Periyapattana has 278 active cases, Hunsur – 104, Mysuru taluk – 100, K R Nagar – 69, Nanjangud – 47, H D Kote – 42 and T Narasipura – 9.

Till July 30, as many as 18 patients succumbed to mucormycosis (Black fungus) disease; 13 from K R Hospital, 4 from Apollo Hospital and one from Narayana Multispecialty Hospital and the district has 24 active cases; K R Hospital – 10, JSS Hospital – 7, Columbia Asia Hospital Mysuru and Apollo Hospital – 3 cases each and Fort Cauvery Hospital – one case.
