Mysuru, June 4:- The 134th birth anniversary of Rajarshi Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar and World Environment Day were observed at Sri Krishnaraja Higher Primary School at Agrahara here on Monday.
“Nalvadi is the founder of modern Mysuru. During his reign, Mysuru saw the construction of hospitals, education institutions, roads, irrigation projects, spiritual centres, hydroelectric project and various factories,” said former corporator M D Parthasarathy.
Vikram Iyengar of KMPK Charitable Trust urged the government to observe Nalvadi jayanti.
Saplings were planted to mark the World Environment Day on the occasion.
Headmaster Subbegowda, Lakshmi, Suma, Ranganath, Jayasimha, Sandesh, Srikanth Kashyap and Kadakola Jagadish were present. (MR/KS).
