Mysuru is set for ‘Jumbore’: Sindhia

‘Stay united for a better tomorrow’ sums up the motive of the 17th national ‘jumbore’ utsav that is scheduled to take place at V P Deenadayal Naidunagar, Adakanahalli, Nanjangud from December 29, said state Scouts and guides commissioner PGR Sindhia.

He was speaking at the press meet held at Naidunagar and said that President Pranab Mukharjee will inaugurate the ‘jumbore utsav’ on Dec 29 at 3pm. Governor of Karnataka Vajubai Vala and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will preside over the function, he said.

Almost 25,000 people from all the states of India are expected to take part in the extravaganza. This is the 3rd time Karnataka is hosting Jambore and the first time in Mysuru.

“Providing basic facilities to all the scouts and guides, instructors who are arriving from all over the country is our main objective. Various committees have already been formed to look into this matter,” he added.

Additional DC Venkatesh, Scouts and Guides District Commissioner Vishwanath, M A Chellayya and others were present.
