Mysuru logs 118 new Covid-19 infections; tally spikes to 47,523

Death toll in Mysuru reaches 956

Mysuru, October 31:- Mysuru’s Covid-19 infection rose to 47,523 with 118 new cases surfacing on Friday (October 30).

The district saw 236 new discharges, taking its tally of discharged patients to 44,786 so far. With a lone fatality linked to coronavirus, the death toll in the district has risen to 956. The death toll is the second highest among all the districts in the state. Of the 47,523 total positive cases, 1718 are active. The patients have been undergoing  treatment at various government, private hospitals and Covid Care Centres (CCCs).

Chikkaballapura topped the list of districts where fresh cases were reported with 143, followed by Dakshina Kannada – 137, Tumakuru – 132, Mandya – 125, Chitradurga – 122  and Hassan 116.

Most of the deceased on Friday were aged above 50 and had Severe Acute Respiratory Illness or Influenza Like Illness. (NAV)
