Mysuru logs 11 new Covid-19 infections; tally moves up to 54,097

Mysuru, March 1:- Mysuru district on Sunday (February 28) reported 11 new Covid-19 infections, taking the cumulative tally of positive caseload to 54,097, according to a bulletin from the Health and Family Welfare Department.

The district also saw 20 discharges on Sunday and the total recoveries rose to 52,862. Out of 54,097 total cases, 205 are active across the district and stable. For the last three days the district has not reported any new fatalities and the death toll stands at 1030.

All the five deaths reported in the state on Sunday were from Bengaluru Urban alone. A 52-year-old man succumbed to Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) with cough and breathlessness symptoms, a 76-year-old man and 75-year-old man, 86-year-old woman died due to Influenza Like Illness (ILI) with fever and cough, 39-year-old man breathed his last to SARI fever and breathlessness with co-morbidities.

Covid-19 vaccine inoculation was halted on Saturday and Sunday in view of the preparation for the second phase of vaccination drive in the state. (NAV)
