Mysuru logs 177 new Covid-19 infections, 10 deaths

499 new discharges in Mysuru district, tally of recoveries reaches 1,64,976

Mysuru, July 13- Mysuru district saw a further decline in the number of Covid-19 cases for the past one week, but after recording lowest deaths for the last two days (2 deaths each on Sunday and Monday), the district again saw a rise in new fatalities. The district logged 177 new coronavirus cases on Monday (July 12), taking the cumulative caseload to 1,69,953. With 10 new Covid deaths recorded in a day, the toll has climbed to 2247.

Mysuru city has 1,05,512 positive cases so far followed by Mysuru taluk – 13,598, 10,719 in Nanjangud, 10,100 in K R Nagar, 9547 in Hunsur, 9547 in T Narasipura, 8354, in Periyapattana 6857 and 5266 in H D Kote.

Mysuru city reported 100 positive cases on July 12 followed by H D Kote, Periyapattana and T Narasipura – 14 each,  Mysuru taluk and K R Nagar – 12 each, Hunsur – 6 and Nanjangud – 5.

Ten deaths were recorded on Monday, 7 in Mysuru taluk and three in Periyapattana. 1621 fatalities in Mysuru city followed by Nanjungud – 124, T Narasipura – 104, Hunsur – 86, K R Nagar – 82, H D Kote – 61 and Periyapattana – 51.

The district recorded more recoveries on Monday as 499 patients were discharged from the hospitals and Covid Care Centres (CCCs), the tally of recoveries has reached 1,64,976, according to a bulletin from the Health and Family Welfare Department.

Mysuru city has 1414 active cases followed by Periyapattana – 346, Hunsur – 254, K R Nagar – 200, Mysuru taluk – 196, Nanjangud – 148, H D Kote – 106 and T Narasipura – 66.

Till July 12, a total of 17 patients have succumbed to mucormycosis (Black fungus) disease; 12 from K R Hospital, 4 from Apollo Hospital and one from Narayana Multispecialty Hospital and district has 34 active cases; K R Hospital – 20, JSS Hospital – 7, Columbia Asia Hosptial Mysuru and Apollo Hospital – 3 cases each and Fort Cauvery Hospital – one case.

In view of the rising number of coronavirus cases in the district and to address the grievances of the people with regard to Covid issues, the district administration has established Covid-19 helpline under Mysuru Metropolitan jurisdiction in three zones as follows:
