Mysuru, May 13:- Mysuru district on Wednesday (May 12) reported 1,773 fresh Covid-19 cases and nine deaths, taking the tally of cumulative caseload to 1,04,227 and the fatalities spiked to 1355, according to a bulletin from the Health and Family Welfare Department.
Of the 1,04,227 positive cases, 16,030 are active and stable in the district. 149 patients have been admitted to Intensive Care Units (ICUs), according to data available from the Health and Family Welfare Department.
On May 12, 517 new fatalities were recorded in the state. Bengaluru Urban accounted for 275 followed by Shivamogga 26, Kalaburagi – 23, Hassan 19, Tumakuru- 14, Koppal and Bengaluru Rural 12 each, Haveri, Kodagu and Mandya – 10 each, Mysuru – 9, rest scattered across the state.
A 65-year-old man, one-year and 5-months-old baby, 42-year-old man, 76-year-old man, 52-year-old man, 65-year-old man, 89-year-old man, 72-year-old man, 76-year-old man and 89-year-old man succumbed to Covid infection at various hospitals in the district with Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) with comorbidities says the bulletin.
According to the Health Department’s data, on May 12, up to 3.30 pm, 37675, only 35 beneficiaries among the Health Care Workers (HCWs) were inoculated in the first dose on Wednesday; 26,511, only 72 in the second dose. With regard to the Front Line Workers (FLWs), 28589, only 68 doses of Covid-19 vaccine were administered in the first dose in the district and 11,904, 748 in the second dose. 4057 doses of vaccines were administered to the beneficiaries in the 18-44 age group.
In the age group of 45+ years, 6,51,684 beneficiaries were administered the jab in the first dose and 145721 in the second dose, while in the above 60 years age group, the number of vaccines given merged with 45 plus category. The total vaccination coverage on May 12 is 7,97,405 beneficiaries.
Till May 12 up to 6 pm, 12,61,123 coronavirus samples were tested in the district, 5233 samples were tested on Wednesday alone, less 2091 doses compared to May 11.
