Mysuru logs 31 new Covid-19 cases, 21 recoveries; tally at 53,740

Mysuru, February 13:- Mysuru district on Friday (February 12) reported 31 new Covid-19 cases and 21 new discharges, taking the tally of positive caseload to 53,740 and total discharges to 52,490, according to a bulletin from the Health and Family Welfare Department.

Out of 53,740 cases, 223 are active across the district and stable. For the fifth consecutive day, the district did not report any Covid linked fatalities and the death toll stands at 1,027 as of Friday evening.

A total of 8,38,680 samples have been tested in Mysuru district till Friday evening and 2873 samples were tested on Friday alone.

Gadag, Kodagu, Koppal and Yadgir districts have also not reported any new coronavirus cases and deaths on Friday. As many as 18 districts reported new cases in single digits, five districts registered two digit cases and Bengaluru Urban reported triple digit cases.

Of the 8 deaths reported on Friday, Bengaluru Urban recorded seven and Dharwad one, all the deaths are attributed to Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) and Influenza Like Illness (ILI). A 80-year-old man, 81-year-old man, 75-year-old man, 86-year-old woman, 66-year-old man, 65-year-old man, 78-year-old woman from Bengaluru Urban succumbed to the coronavirus disease at various private hospitals and a 54-year-old man from Dharwad breathed his last at a private hospital.
